  1. DELVING INTO THE ART OF FILM-MAKING

For two weeks straight, the Centre’s kids have been studying the art of film-making. Together with film director Oksana Kazmina, they have been delving into the film-making craft. In such a short period of time, the kids have already learned about the film-making process. Every other film production workshop helps them improve their creative skills. Every workshop participant was given a video camera. They are now making short videos like real film directors and even intend to take part in a film-making contest. The initial idea belonged to the Children’s Film-Making Workshop supervisor Oksana.

  2. We welcome the new kids at the Centre

We are happy to continue providing help to displaced children who have fled from the combat zone. Today, another three children arrived at the Centre from the town of Shchastia, Luhansk region. They are 17-year-old Nastia and two sisters, 16-year-old Zhenia and 11-year-old Karina. The Centre’s staff have provided counseling to the girls and made arrangements for them to continue their studies. The girls have been placed in the family groups of Basarab and Borysenko who will take care of their safety at the Centre. They are now living in peace and comfort. We and the kids stay in touch with their parents and relatives at all times. We hope that the kids get used to living in a new place quickly and make many new friends.

  3. A Sound Mind in a Sound Body

The Our Kids Centre is involved in many activities in working with children. For example, under the project entitled ‘Sport is Our Choice,’ every day we try to remind the kids that engaging in sports activities is essential for their good health and fitness. To promote the best possible conditions for comprehensive physical, artistic and sporting development of every child, we consult the best professional coaches and instructors. From now on, the kids will have weekly dancing and functional training classes with Anna Rozvadovska, professional choreographer and certified ZUMBA fitness instructor. This week, we had the first training session. Amid a friendly atmosphere, the kids and even the foster carers thoroughly enjoyed the ZUMBA rhythms. We are already looking forward to meeting Anna again.

We also learned about new methods and techniques of working with children with traumatic experiences.
