  1. SPORT is our choice

    The Centre "Our Kids" actively continues its work in physical education of our foster children. October 29, 2014 within the project "Our Choice is Sport" the Centre for Child Protection "Our Kids" took in important guests. The two renowned athletes Viacheslav Zavalniuk, the vice president of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation, player of Ukrainian National Team, participant of the Olympic Winter Games 2002, and Dmytro Khrystych , the Soviet and Ukrainian hockey player, participant of the all-star matches in 1997 and 1999. As a member of the USSR National Team was the winner of the World Cup 1990. As part of the Ukrainian National Team participated in the Olympic Games 2002, honored worker of Physical training and sports of Ukraine.

  3. The Our Kids Centre celebrates the European Day of Charities

    Today, Europe celebrates the Day of Charities. On this occasion, a photography exhibition entitled Charity through the Camera Lens was launched in Kyiv’s Taras Shevchenko Park. The event was arranged by the Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum and the Open Hearts Charity Foundation of Ukraine in partnership with the Kyiv State Administration. The purpose of this event is to honour the contributions made by charity foundations to help address various social issues and promote social development.

  4. A SCHEDULED AUDIT CONDUCTED AT THE CENTRE

    On September 30, 2014, officers of the Children’s Service and the Health Department of the Kyiv State Administration conducted a scheduled assessment of the Centre’s work on children’s social and legal protection. The auditors examined the children’s personal files, assessed the maintenance of the children’s accommodation and personal property, correctness of welfare payments, timeliness of medical examinations, etc. There was no major criticism of the work of the Centre’s administration. Currently, we are awaiting an official opinion.

  5. A VISIT BY JOHN E. HERBST

    On September 24, the Our Kids Centre hosted a visit by John E. Herbst, American diplomat, the United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine from 2003 to 2006, the Eurasia Centre Director of the Atlantic Council, as well as member of the Advisor Panel of the Structural Subdivision of the German-Polish-Ukrainian Society. During his visit, Mr. Herbst was briefed on the latest major events and the current situation. After an official meeting, Mr. Herbst also met with one of the foster families.
