Energy efficiency: the German experience

As the first energy-saving Centre in Ukraine, we contribute to the promotion of the idea of the use of energy efficient technologies in Ukraine by example and increasingly justifying green concepts.

On December 2-3 Centre “Our Kids” accepted participants of a seminar on working out a program to support comprehensive energy rehabilitation of multi-storeyed buildings organized by the German Energy Agency (dena).

Together with its partners from the Eastern Committee of German Economy, Berlin competence center for large settlements, the initiative “Housing in Eastern Europe” (IWO), “Berlin Economics” and the Delegation of German Economy in Ukraine, the German Energy Agency (dena) united in the initiative “Energy Efficiency-Ukraine”. Its goal is the rapid and large-scale energy efficiency of an obsolete housing of Ukraine and upgrading of heating systems.

During the seminar, the initiative was presented, successful models of implementation of a comprehensive rehabilitation and experience of Germany and of the Baltic states were discussed, as well as achievements of the national team of experts to support rehabilitation programs in Ukraine. The experience of German-Polish-Ukrainian Society in Ukraine in the implementation of energy efficient technologies – innovative geothermal plant – in the Centre “Our Kids” was demonstrated to the participants.

The organizers are confident that tangible energy efficiency is one of the central themes of the future of Ukraine. It is accompanied by a variety of positive economic, social and environmental effects that we proved. We thank the organizers for showing trust and we gladly accepted the participants in our Centre.
