Upon the initiative of the German-Polish-Ukrainian Society in Ukraine amendments to the law on Public Private Partnership, signed by the President of Ukraine on 22 February 2016, include in Article 4 that public-private partnerships may also be concluded for the provision of services and the management of social institutions. The law will come into effect on 25 May 2016 and serve as the basis for NGOs to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation’s with state and municipal authorities. “Our Kids” has significantly raised the quality of services for children in need in Ukraine. That has been possible largely because it has been an international public-private partnership from its establishment in 2008. The advocated legislative change enables other NGOs in Ukraine to follow suit and children, families and other population groups to receive better social services. |
