St. Nicholas Is Our Guest

Oh, the one who loves Nicholas,
Oh, the one who is Nicholas’ servant,
So those St. Nicholas,
Will help in time!

In the eve of St. Nicholas Day miracles happen! Children believe that polite ones will receive gifts, and if badly behaved – birch. Everyone – adults and young – are waiting for this Saint and believe that Nicholas will not forget anyone, and that under the pillow in the morning they will find sweets or thing dreamed of for a long time.

And not in vain. In this charming holiday – St. Nicholas’ Day, our children had a wonderful mood and their expectations came true: Nicholas from abroad, angels, funny clowns and guests created an atmosphere of miracle. Kids were also prepared – our choir sang Ukrainian carols, clear voices touched the audience, and echo of it will be for a long time in the memory of guests. To greet children came deputy of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of German-Polish-Ukrainian Society in Ukraine, Serhiy Taruta, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Hanna Starostenko, Chairman of the Dniprovskyi District of the city of Kyiv of the State Administration Yaroslav Horbunov and his deputy Alla Zahorodnia, heads of Kyiv City Service for Children Valerii Tantsyura and Head of Dniprovskyi District Service for Children Oleksii Polishchuk. Thanks to members of the National Scout Organization of Ukraine at our Centre Peace Light of Bethlehem shone, symbolizing warmth, peace, harmony and hope. Also the students of the Kyiv Regional Vocational School of Building came to greet our children.

Nicholas this year was extremely generous and remembered about everyone, not bypassed the staff of the Centre, those who with their work and care protects children every day – foster parents and caregivers, social pedagogues, psychologists and even pets received surprises from the Saint. And in the end we all together “lit” lights on our Christmas tree.

This holiday was shrouded with charm and kindness, the evening program was filled with contests and entertainment turns, and finally there was a disco for children.
