Children in Ukraine require protection. Minors have the rights that the State is bound to respect under the Constitution. Pursuant to the Constitution and the laws and regulations of Ukraine, all children in Ukraine have equal rights and freedoms regardless of race, skin colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national, ethnic, or social origin, or property, health or birth status of children and their parents or persons acting as parents, or any other conditions.
The legislation of Ukraine provides a number of benefits and aids for orphan children, children deprived of parental care, and children facing vulnerabilities which are laid down in codes of law, particularly the Family Code, the Civil Code, and the Code of Civil Procedure, the laws of Ukraine, the resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the orders of relevant ministries.
